You are about to be Photo Bombed

You know how I haven't really posted a lot lately?  Well, I finally put all the pictures from my phone onto my computer.  It took about 1 minute, and made me feel really guilty on how absolutely lazy I was thinking it would be a hassle.  Silly Hollie.  So without further ado.... I give you a lot of pictures from this year.  Giddy up.
Here is us enjoying a romantic Valentines dinner

One afternoon, I had an overwhelming desire to make and eat a Texas sheet cake...so I made one.
Kids playing "Crash Boom Bang" with Daddy... a favorite in our house.  It's a tradition passed down from Ralph. :)
                                 This is how we roll...............
We threw a going away party for our friend/ neighbor who moved to Texas.  This is Trish trying out the party favors.
We are so proud of his bubble blowing talent... so overwhelmingly proud.
One Saturday I woke and heard the kids downstairs with Preston.  They were cooking up some breakfast in style.

Remember back in the day when I said I make all those cupcakes for a fundraiser and forgot to take pictures?  Well... here are some pre frosting.  See, I wasn't joking- this girl made some cupcakes.
The bathtub picture of the best buddies

             Catching them playing Tea Party
My new and improved Art Room!  We put in new laminate flooring and did it all up pretty.  I love it.  Of course, it is messy now- and artist can't work in perfect tidy conditions. ;)
For St. Patricks day I did it all up fancy- one was the toilet.  The kids had flushed and started wiping up the toilet before I could take a picture.
Our St. Paddy's Day dinner.  Preston had just arrived home from being in Tokyo all week.  We were ALL so excited that he was home again.  The boys are holding up their Sonic and Knuckles he brought back for them.

Some sweet tag art that I saw over by our little Post Office here in town.  Pretty sweet.
More cupcakes.  Decided to try out some S'mores.  They were, of course, delicious.
Just another day here at the Thomson house.
For my birthday this year, a group of us all met up at Mrs. Tammy's Tea Cottage.  Dressed up, and had a fabulous brunch.  They are known for their Monte Carlo sandwich, and let me tell you- they lived up to it.  I find myself craving one from time to time.
More of the ladies.  I love Debra's face in this (bottom right).  She drinks tea like a boss.
 Kristy's fabulous Red hat.
The ladies.  The tulle on my had tore, so it just kind of hung there awkwardly on my cheek.  I found everything at the cutest vintage clothing shop.  This is the good kind, where she hand picks all the good stuff in great condition.  It was so fun shopping for it all.  I even found pink shoes in my giant feet size and pink gloves to match.
Joseph told me one day that he wanted to invent a type of cookie.  He wanted it to be regular dough and to layer the chocolate chips.  We used our Top of the Muffin pan to create them.
This is a random picture of silly string on the floor.
Because of the pan shape- they ended up being little mini pie cookies.  Here he is, proud of his work.
             Kid approved.
Yeah, he was on to something there...yum!
I made the mistake of taking the kids to build a bear workshop, but they enjoyed it.
I let the boys paint their own pots and plant some flowers. These flowers are now dead.

 She's cute
JoJo joined me one day in the art room.  See, messy but fun.
Aleah and her buddy she met at the library Music and Movement Class.  Her name is Savannah, and they danced all the songs together. So sweet.
                                                                   Grape nuts...
                    He's a great Daddy.

BAM Competition

I am VERY excited to announce that in October I will have a piece for the Boise Art Museum.
It won't be a painting, this time I am putting on my designer pants- literally.
In October, BAM (Boise Art Museum) is putting on a Recycled Fashion Show, and it just
so happens that my application got there in time and I will now be showcasing and competing with my entry.
It's simple:  Design and make an outfit using recycled materials and strut your4 stuff on the catwalk.
People in attendance will vote on their favorite, and the winner wins $500!
Win or loose, I am so very excited about this.  The day before I get to take my
stuff in for a photo shoot.
As of Yesterday, I am making great progress on my piece.  I will definitely need the full amount of time due to tedious work.  I am not revealing what it is exactly I am doing here, but I am loving how it is working out.
For a teaser, here are some shoes I picked up at a thrift store and am revamping for my outfit.  A lovely start if you ask me.
Stay tuned!

Catch Up

I finally got around to unloading all the pictures on my camera.  I was surprised at how lazy I have been in not transferring some of these sooner.
JoJo's class had a Moosical performance at the end of the school year.  He was a pig, and a mighty cute one at that. :) (He's the one in the flannel).

I spruced up the laundry room.  Cheapest make over yet!  I got the paint able wallpaper at home depot,
(super easy to use), repurposed some pillows and moved the shoe bench in from the entryway, Large cheap shelf from Home Depot as well, existing artwork and then some boxes from IKEA.  With Paint, decor, etc total was just under $60!  You can't tell, but the wallpaper has a cool tin ceiling textured design on it.  Now it has better storage and mud room section.  yahoo.  ( you know you were all dying to know what my laundry room looked like...)
We had a bubble day.  Aleah got the giant bubble set for her birthday.  The day started out nice, but like a Kuna day in Spring, will turn on you in an instant.  It got really windy so that helped with the bubble making!
Experimenting with different things to use
 Lovely Daddy :)

It ended up getting really cold there, but they had a blast.
Here is Aleah.  I think this was at JoJo's Moosical.  It somehow ended up here in the feed, but she's a cutie, eh?!
Some delicious Samoa cupcakes I made.  They were so beautiful, and even more delicious!
 Thurston's Kindergarten Graduation.
I love how he is 'folding' his arms here
And now he is praying?  He didn't want to dress nice that day, but we made a compromise:  White polo with slacks and he could wear the camo- slip on canvas shoes without socks. :)
I love how he is shaking the Principals hand here
That's his teacher in the back, Mrs. Ramos.
So now I am only 1 month behind. ;)

Long Time No See, eh?

Every month, I look back at the calendar to review my/our month and to remember what all we did.  Lately when people ask what I have been up to, I usually draw a blank.  Not because I have done nothing, but because I have been so busy I have no idea what all I have done.  This last month was ridiculous, and all about the kids.  That's good though, right?
Let's see, going back a couple months I was able to take a trip to SLC with some lovely lady friends for the weekend, and it was fabulous.  It was filled with good food, fun shopping, hot tubing and mani's and pedi's.  There was a special day set aside that was dedicated to IKEA.  We had been planning and saving for months, so you can imagine what 4 girls with a wad of cash, an empty truck and heart full of determination can do.  I need to upload the pics from my phone, because it was ridiculous. ;)
The month of May? = Little league.  Seriously, 2 boys on 2 different teams?  Practices, games
etc.  I am happy for them that they had a good time and always want to give them the opportunity to compete in sports, but here is to secretly hoping they don't want to do it again.  The games started in the freezing cold, and the last game nearly gave me heat stroke.  But that is now over, the last day of school was Friday and we have already BBQ'd, had our own little pool party, gone swimming, gone shopping to garage sales, played a round of kickball with some friends at a park with a picnic- and it's only Monday. ;)
I did learn that my body isn't the same now as in high school when I last played kickball- but it was apparent that everyone else felt the same. :)

So way back:  Last June, the Boise Art Museum (we will now refer to this as BAM), had a ladies night to coincide with their Shoe Art exhibit.  It was a blast and I just noticed that they had these pictures up on their facebook page.  This is my group of gals, and mine are the red polka dot shoes.  I seriously love this first shot.  Fabulous.

This one's pretty sweet too.

I had some friends over one night to have  movie/spa. pajama party night.  So fun.  One of my friends has an auto immune disease which caused her hair to fall out.  She changed her diet and now has a fabulous head of hair again, but in the mean time had invested in a fabulous collection of wigs.  So naturally, she brought them and we tried them on.  Here is me modeling one along with the Kimono Preston brought back from Japan for me.

I've had a hard realization that my body is getting older and while I am not like I was when I was 20, I am not giving up and and trying to be healthier and getting stronger with Yoga.  It has helped my pelvis and I almost have zero problems with it now, and thanks to the cortisone shots- my knees are great again too. ;)  I just really wish that this were true:
'till next time, thanks for stopping by.
